Background: Salalah is located in the Dhofar region of southern Oman. The area is unique and exceptionally beautiful due to the affect of Asian monsoons that bring cool and drizzly weather in the summer months. This effect is known as the Khareef.
The latter creates a landscape of rivers, waterfalls, green fields and flowers, where cows and camels graze side by side in lush meadows. The green pastures leads gently into abrupt canyons and deep wadis, where you will find caves, natural springs, and a wide variety of wild life.
There are also hundreds of kilometres of sandy white beaches and dramatic coastal scenery, from where you can witness whales, turtles and dolphins to name but a few. The following images offer just a brief glimpse of what Salalah has to offer.
